Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Aero (“Aero,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Aero mobile application and related services (the “Service”). Aero is a running and training app for athletes and coaches. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Quick summary. We collect the account, profile, fitness, and location information you and your devices provide — including data from wearables and fitness accounts you choose to connect (such as Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, Whoop, Polar, Suunto, Withings, or Coros) — so that Aero can record your runs, show your progress, and let coaches and teammates support your training. We do not sell your personal information, and we never use your health or location data for advertising.

1. Information We Collect

With your permission, Aero collects fitness and health-related data that is either entered manually, imported from the health platform on your device — Apple Health (HealthKit) on iOS and Android Health Connect on Android — or imported from a wearable or fitness account you connect through our wearable-integration provider, Terra (see Section 2). This data may originate from a connected smartwatch or wearable (for example, an Apple Watch, a Wear OS / Android watch, or a Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, Whoop, Polar, Suunto, Withings, or Coros device). This may include:

Apple Health (HealthKit) data. Information that Aero reads from Apple Health is used only to provide and improve features you request (for example, recording runs and showing your stats and trends). We never use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing, we never sell it, and we do not share it with third parties except with the infrastructure providers that operate the Service on our behalf or as you explicitly direct (for example, by sharing a run with your team).
Android Health Connect data (Android). On Android, Aero reads fitness and health data through Health Connect with your permission, and only the data types you authorize. Aero's access to and use of Health Connect data complies with the Google Play requirements for health and fitness apps, including the Health Connect Permissions policy and the Limited Use requirements. We use this data only to provide the features you request; we do not use Health Connect data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to third parties except the infrastructure providers that operate the Service on our behalf or as you explicitly direct. You can review or revoke Health Connect permissions at any time in Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → Aero.

Aero requests the following Health Connect read permissions. We never request any write permissions — Aero does not modify your Health Connect data.

Aero imports your activities and health data from two kinds of sources, in each case only after you grant permission:

For each imported run we keep an external identifier for the source activity so we don’t import the same run twice. You can disconnect a connected account at any time in Profile → Settings → Connected Devices, and revoke on-device health access in your device settings.

e. Information collected automatically

Aero does not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app advertising trackers, and we do not collect your data for advertising purposes.

f. Android device permissions

In addition to Health Connect (covered above), Aero requests the following Android runtime permissions. You can review or revoke them at any time in your device’s Settings → Apps → Aero → Permissions.

Aero does not request microphone, camera, contacts, SMS, call-log, background-location, or "draw over other apps" permissions on Android.

2. Connected Health Sources

Aero brings your training and health data in from two kinds of sources, and only with your permission:

What we read

Aero requests read-only access to the workout and health data types listed in Section 1.b (and, on Android, the specific Health Connect permissions in the table above). We never request or hold write permissions, so Aero cannot add to, change, or delete the data in Apple Health or Health Connect.

How we use it

Data read from Apple Health, Health Connect, or a Terra-connected account is used only to provide the features you request — recording your runs and showing your stats, trends, streaks, and personal bests, and (where you permit) sharing a run with your coach or followers. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI or machine-learning models. We share it only with the infrastructure providers that operate the Service on our behalf (see Section 5) or as you explicitly direct.

Connected accounts via Terra

To let you sync a wearable or fitness account that isn’t written to Apple Health or Health Connect, Aero uses Terra (a service operated by Terra Enabling Developers, Inc.), a third-party provider that connects to wearable and fitness platforms on your behalf. When you connect an account (for example Garmin or Whoop), you sign in on that provider’s own screen through Terra’s connection widget, which opens in your device’s system browser. Terra securely holds the resulting authorization for that account — Aero never receives your third-party login credentials or access tokens. Aero stores only an opaque Terra connection identifier and the provider’s name. Terra then retrieves your workouts, heart-rate data, daily health metrics (such as resting heart rate, HRV, and VO₂ max), and sleep data from the connected account and delivers them to Aero so we can show them in your training log and stats. Terra’s own handling of your data is governed by Terra’s Privacy Policy. We use data received through Terra only to provide the features you request; we never use it for advertising and never sell it.

Health Connect, HealthKit & connected-account limited use. Aero’s access to and use of Android Health Connect data complies with the Google Play health apps requirements, including the Health Connect permissions and Limited Use policy. Aero’s access to and use of Apple Health (HealthKit) data follows Apple’s HealthKit requirements — HealthKit data is never used for advertising or data-mining purposes and is never sold to advertising platforms or data brokers. Health and fitness data that Aero receives from a wearable or fitness account you connect through Terra is handled to the same standard: used only to provide the features you request, never used for advertising, and never sold.

Turning it off

You can revoke Aero’s access at any time:

Revoking or disconnecting stops Aero from reading new data. Runs and health data already imported into your training log remain until you delete the individual run or your account (see Section 7).

4. AI-Generated Insights

Aero offers optional AI-generated insights, summaries, and answers to coaching questions. To produce these, relevant workout, performance, and context data is sent through our backend to Google’s Gemini API solely to generate the requested result, which is then returned to you. This processing is governed by Google’s applicable terms. We do not permit your data to be used to serve you advertising.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own commitments.
Health platform on your deviceIf you grant access to Apple Health or Android Health Connect, Aero reads the data types you authorize from that platform on your device. Aero does not send your data back to those platforms.
Wearable & fitness accounts you connectIf you connect a wearable or fitness account (Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, Whoop, Polar, Suunto, Withings, or Coros) through Terra, that provider shares your workout and health data with us via Terra, according to the authorization you grant. Aero reads this data; it does not send data back to those providers.
Legal & safetyWe may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Aero, our users, or the public.
Business transfersIf Aero is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your health or precise-location data with third parties for their own marketing.

Deleted data is removed from the live database immediately. Automated backups may retain a snapshot for up to 7 days after deletion, after which it is permanently purged.

8. Your Rights & Account Deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@aero-app.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

9. Children’s Privacy

Aero is intended for users 13 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@aero-app.com and we will delete it. If you are between 13 and 18, please use Aero only with the involvement and consent of a parent, guardian, or coach.

We use technical and organizational measures to protect your information:

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International Users

Aero is operated using infrastructure that may be located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

12. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states (such as California) may have additional rights regarding their personal information, including the right to know, delete, and correct, and the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under applicable state law. To exercise your rights, contact us at admin@aero-app.com.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the app.
